LIVE: Huge queues after ALL traffic stopped following crash on M62 - latest updates

Huge queues are building on a stretch of the M62 after a crash.

All traffic has been stopped on the eastbound carriageway between junction 22 for Saddleworth and junction 23 for Huddersfield. Traffic officers are on the scene.

Congestion is building up to the incident. Motorway cameras show long queues forming.

A tweet posted by Highways England said: "Traffic has been temporarily stopped on the #M62 eastbound between J22 #Saddleworth and J23 #Huddersfield while we deal with a collision. Please be patient we'll try and get you moving again soon."

According to traffic alert service Inrix, huge delays of more than an hour remain.

The accident has been moved to the hard shoulder.
