Boyd and McGeady clamped for 'nasty' Jota comments as raging Celtic fans call out 'mean spirited' pundits

Kris Boyd and Aiden McGeady are on the end of a Celtic fan backlash after making a quip about Jota's emotional reaction to scoring in his Celtic return.

The winger made his second Hoops debut in their 3-1 win over Motherwell, with Brendan Rodgers throwing him on as a second hab sub.. And Jota marked the occasion by netting in stoppage time to seal the points for the champions in Lanarkshire, tapping home from Daizen Maeda's cross. McGeady was asked about Jota's return and his tears as he made his way to the celtic end after the full-time whistle, and the ex-Celtic winger replied: "I don't really understand that. Crying? Each to their own. He's obviously emotional coming back to Celtic, somewhere he feels he has a home."

Analysing the clinching goal, Boyd quipped: "The only thing missing from that pass from Maeda was a box of tissues." But it hasn;t gone down well with Celtic fans, who have taken to social media to slam the Sky Sports pundit.

One said: "Boyd getting his sly wee dig in again. I can guarantee, it'll be him that needs the tissues at the end of the season." Another added: "Kris Boyd’s comment on Jota needing a box of tissues is pretty sad. Are men not allowed to show emotion? More importantly are
