Amazon's 13,000 rating £25 perfume beauty buffs compare to £97 Jean Paul Gaultier

Amazon shoppers are flocking to buy a 'gorgeous' perfume that 'smells expensive' with over 13,000 reviews. 9PM by Afnan has 18% off at the time of writing bringing it down to £24.65.

9PM by Afnan is an oriental vanilla fragrance that was first launched in 2020 and has been repeatedly compared to Jean Paul Gaultier's Ultra Male - which retails at £97 for a bottle.

9PM by Afnan opens up with notes of apple, cinnamon, wild lavender and bergamot. The heart takes a floral twist with orange blossom and lily-of-the-valley. The base is exactly what you'd expect from an oriental vanilla with vanilla, tonka bean, amber and patchouli.

It's brought an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 from across 13,247 global ratings. One shopper wrote: "I bought this product as my friend recommended it to me. Omg I was so shocked! This fragrance is so worth it. It smells like sweet vanilla with a masculine scent! Highly recommend to anyone!"

A second penned: "Awww man I can't believe I spent over double the price on JPG when this was out there. Received my bottle yesterday and as soon as I sprayed it both the wife and I turned to each other and said it smelled exactly like JPG UM....OK there maybe the most miniscule slightest difference but unless your a real fragrance guru you won't smell the difference. Longevity is good as well. Fantastic alternative for the price will def be buying in the future."
