ITV Emmerdale fans call out 'madness' as Tom King returns in 'unfortunate twist'
Emmerdale fans were shocked as Tom King made an appearance in Tuesday (February 11) night's episode in an "unfortunate twist" as he attempts to regain Belle Dingle's trust.
Just a few minutes into Tuesday's episode, the familiar face of Tom King appeared on screen as he sat rather glumly in his prison cell. In December, Belle received justice as the villain was sentenced to three years in prison after subjecting Belle to assault and coercive control.
While sat in prison, Tom was seen speaking to the Chaplain as he said: "It's my wedding anniversary coming up and it seems my wife has started divorce proceedings against me
"I just wanna sort things out with her and that seems impossible unless she comes to visit me, and won't even talk to me. But if she did I know that we would iron out our misunderstandings, make things easier for both of us."
He became visibly annoyed as the Chaplain responded "That's obviously not how she sees it." Clearly testing out if his mind games still work, Tom attempted to convince him and requested: "Well what if you spoke to her solicitor, said that we'd been talking and you thought that a meeting would help both of us?"
After the Chaplain said he can try, Tom turned on the charm and thanked him for being "so helpful these last few months" before he added: "And as a man of the church, I think they'd listen to you more than me. You'd be giving me a chance to make things up to her".
After speaking to her solicitor, Belle talks it through with Lydia and debates whether or not to go and speak to him about the divorce, who comforted her that he's in prison and a guard will be there the entire time after Belle admitted she was still scared of him.
Before the credits rolled, Tom expressed relief
