Celtic fans have 'Subway Loyal' script flipped as infamous Rangers jab backfires with 'green seats' called out
Baffled Pat Nevin admitted he can't understand why Celtic fans headed for a quick-fire exit after the scintillating display against Dundee United.
Brendan Rodgers watched his side stroll 16 points clear of Rangers at the Scottish Premiership summit thanks to goals from Callum McGregor and Adam Idah as they cruised against Jim Goodwin's men - with the perfect preparation for the Champions League second leg against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena next week. However, former Chelsea star Nevin was left confused by the supporters making moves out of Celtic Park before the full-time whistle.
A pot shot aimed at rivals Rangers by Celtic fans is branding the support 'Subway Loyal' - due to the sight of thousands of fans heading for an early exit while the Light Blues are still in action at Ibrox. However, Nevin flipped the script on Celtic while on commentary duties for BBC Sportsound following Ireland international Idah netting the third goal of the afternoon.
He said: "I have to be honest, there is an awful lot of green seats here. You can see a lot of people have left.
"I know the 90 minutes is up and there is five more minutes. But with the quality of goals I am slightly surprised so many people have left."
It comes after the Green Brigade called out their fellow supporters for the lack of atmosphere during league games. The Celtic ultras branded their fellow punters "spoiled" in a scathing statement last month.
