Huge plumes of smoke have been visible over the skies in Bolton since the early hours of the morning following a fire at an industrial estate.
Emergency services remain on the scene on Adelaide Street as crews tackle the blaze in the Daubhill area of the borough. It is understood fire crews were initially called to the scene at around midnight on Thursday (May 22).
Adelaide Street is closed in both directions, as well as the A579 St Helens Road, as crews work to bring the blaze under control.

In a post on X on Thursday night, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) urged residents to 'keep doors and windows closed'.
Pictures show billowing smoke rising from the estate overnight with firefighters using aerial equipment to fight the flames from above.
In a statement on Friday morning (May 23), GMFRS said crews are making 'good progress' and remain on scene to dampen down the area.
A spokesperson said: "Firefighters worked through the night to tackle a fire at a large industrial unit in Bolton.
"Eight fire engines alongside specialist appliances including the Aerial Unit, Scorpion and Turntable Ladder were called to the incident at Adelaide Street, Bolton, just before 9.50pm on Thursday, May 22.
"St Helen's Road was closed in both directions while crews worked alongside partners to contain the large fire which produced a lot of smoke.
"Crews are continuing to make good progress on the fire on Friday (May 23) morning with firefighters remaining on scene to dampen down the area."
