'Better than Grealish' - Aston Villa fans pile in as Molde footage emerges

Aston Villa released footage from their 3-1 defeat of Molde on Sunday.

Jacob Ramsey opened the scoring with a superb finish from inside the penalty box and John McGinn doubled Villa's lead with another fine effort into the top corner of Molde's goal.

Ollie Watkins added a third with a header, finishing off a clever move from Steven Gerrard's side as they raced into a three-goal lead before half-time.

Molde pulled a goal back after half-time and Ramsey and Matty Cash could have added further goals to Villa's tally.

Gerrard's men side also beat Brentford 2-1 earlier this week in a private game at Villa Park and they head into Wednesday's clash with Leeds United on the back of a couple of friendly wins and the 1-0 defeat of Everton last time out in the Premier League.

The club released highlights of the game and Villa fans took to social media to have their say on Ramsey's goal in particular.

JJ, as Ramsey is affectionately known by Villa supporters, took his goal very well with a superb touch from his right foot to set up the strike on his left.

One Villa fan wrote on Twitter: "Left footed or right footed? Nobody knows."

"What a player," another added, while a third fan said: "I actually love him you know."

"I think he might end up better than Jack Grealish," a fourth supporter added and another said: "Ramsey is going to be a bigger player than Grealish. There. I said it."

Ramsey has become a key player for Villa this season, breaking into the team under former manager Dean Smith and he has remained in Gerrard's starting line up alongside Douglas Luiz and McGinn.
