BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans divided over 'inappropriate' scenes as they hope professional dancer is 'ok'

While some got hot under the collar, others were disapproving of some of the scenes they saw during the latest Strictly Come Dancing live show. It was a big night on Saturday night (November 18) as the remaining seven couples didn't perform in the show's usual ballroom.

This weekend all eyes have been on Blackpool as the BBC One dance contest's cast and crew packed up and headed to the seaside town. As is the show's annual tradition, week nine of the competition was broadcast live from the iconic Tower Ballroom, a significant moment in the Strictly calendar for the couples and viewers alike.

After an epic opening number from the show's group of talented professional dancers, EastEnders star Bobby Brazier and his professional dance partner Dianne Buswell were the first couple to dance, performing a jive to Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go by Wham!

But it appears Layton Williams caused the most stir on Saturday night as his performance during the show’s Blackpool special was dubbed "creative genius". The actor and West End star and his dance partner Nikita Kuzmin were praised for their pole-based couple's choice routine to Ain’t No Other Man by Christina Aguilera.

The pair were placed joint top of the leaderboard, but were unable to secure full marks. Three of the judges awarded the pair a 10 for their couple’s choice routine, while Craig Revel Horwood awarded the couple a nine, resulting in an overall judges’ score of 39.
