BBC's Sally Nugent admits she's 'not a natural dancer' ahead of Strictly Christmas stint

Sally Nugent has admitted she's not a 'natural dancer' and that it took her ages to 'learn to walk in a straight line' ahead of her Strictly Come Dancing debut. The presenter is swapping BBC Breakfast's famous red sofa for the glitzy ballroom this Christmas, as one of six stars taking part in the festive competition.

She's been partnered with professional dancer Graziano Di Prima for the one-off special, which airs on Christmas Day (December 25). EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick and Nancy Xu, historian Dan Snow and Nadiya Bychkova and children's TV presenter Tillie Amartey and Neil Jones are also competing.

Rugby star Danny Cipriani and Jowita Przystał and Sugababes icon Keisha Buchanan and Gorka Márquez round-off the line-up. The famous faces and their professional partners will be battling it out to impress judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and head judge Shirley Ballas - as well as the voting studio audience.

But only one couple will emerge victorious and lift the sought-after Christmas trophy. Sally and Graziano will be performing a Foxtrot to Ella Fitzgerald's cover of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.

The presenter, 52, who started her broadcast career on BBC Radio Merseyside, doesn't have any previous dance experience. She told the BBC: "I’m not a stage school kid, I’m not trained in any way, so to even be on the stage is a win for me."
