Barry Robson told the Rangers answer over REAL Aberdeen VAR gripe as Connor Goldson cleared after 'frustrated' rant

Bemused Barry Ferguson reckons Aberdeen boss Barry Robson was just 'frustrated" when he claimed Connor Goldson should have seen red for a clash with Dante Polvara.

Referee Nick Walsh and the VAR team caught the ire of the Dons gaffer after the officials awarded a penalty against Stefan Gartenmann for a pull on Goldson's shirt in the closing stages of the Scottish Premiership clash at Pittodrie. It allow Rangers captain James Tavernier to step up and level the game in injury-time and keep Philippe Clement's unbeaten record as Ibrox boss alive.

But that wasn't the only issue flagged up by Robson as he claimed that a collision between Goldson and Polvara on the edge of the area was missed by the VAR team - with whistler Walsh only opting to issue a yellow card for the flashpoint. The irked Aberdeen boss reckons it should have seen his side awarded a penalty - but the former Rangers captain shut down his case.

Ferguson told Go Radio: "I just think Barry is angry and frustrated. Albeit Rangers dominated the game but Aberdeen were holding on and they had a bit of luck with a couple of attempts off the crossbar and the goalkeeper has made a couple of good saves, but I don't know where he is coming from with that."

Ferguson also declared that the VAR room was correct to send Walsh to the monitor in injury time to review the pull on Goldson. He added: "I don't think the defender has to do it. Goldson loses him in the box and he clearly pulls his shirt."
