Atalanta 'respond' to Manchester United bid for Rasmus Hojlund and more transfer rumours

Manchester United have reportedly seen their opening bid for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund rejected.

The Italian club, according to Corriere dello Sport, have snubbed United's £31million bid. It is claimed that the Serie A side are looking for a fee between the £34-39m region for the Danish striker. Hojlund was signed from Sturm Graz last summer, for £15m, and scored nine goals in 32 appearances for Atalanta.

United manager Erik ten Hag is on the hunt for a centre-forward this summer and Hojlund is a target - along with Harry Kane, Goncalo Ramos, Victor Osimhen and Randal Kolo Muani. Hojlund has addressed the United speculation publicly and is said to be on the radar of Juventus too.

Elsewhere, United goalkeeper David De Gea is claimed to be a target for Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr. The club, who signed Cristiano Ronaldo earlier this year, are keen on a move for the Spaniard according to The Sun. De Gea became a free agent this week but United are continuing talks with the shot-stopper.

The Spaniard has been at Old Trafford for 12 years but now faces an uncertain future after a mixed season on the pitch. He won his second golden glove award in the Premier League, but made some high-profile errors over the course of the 2022/23 campaign.

United want to reduce his £375,000 per week wage and it is unclear whether he would remain the club's number one. Several big-name footballers are making the move to the Middle East and Al-Nassr interest would give De Gea a big decision to make.
