'Sign him' - Manchester United fans send Rasmus Hojlund transfer message after pre-season wondergoal

Rasmus Hojlund kept the hype around him very much alive, with an eye-catching 45-minute display in Atalanta's friendly against Rappresentativa Val Seriana.

The 20-year-old got himself on the score sheet, after committing two opposition defenders down the right and taking the ball on the outside - before rifling into the roof of the net. Hojlund is the striker wanted by United manager Erik ten Hag, who has added Mason Mount and goalkeeper Andre Onana to his squad so far this summer.

Ten Hag held video calls with Hoijlund earlier in the year and United are now said to be in 'advanced talks' over the signing, with a deal potentially costing the club around £60million. The young striker also revealed earlier this year that he is a United fan, with personal terms over a move not thought to be a problem.

The Danish forward played the first half on Thursday, as the Serie A side went in at the break 4-0 ahead. That was Hojlund's lot on the day, with head coach Gian Piero Gasperini changing his entire XI for the second half. Two assists and a fine solo effort, though, had the Old Trafford faithful impressed.

Here's what United fans had to say on Twitter after the strike.
