Alfredo Morelos in life after Rangers career rescue as striker 'confident' of transfer limbo escape with La Liga new boys

Free agent Alfredo Morelos is reportedly closing in on a move to to La Liga new boys Granada after leaving Rangers at the end of last season.

The 27-year-old Colombian hitman left Ibrox after his contract expired this summer after scoring 124 goals in total during his six-year stint in the Scottish Premiership But he's yet to find a new team despite clubs across Europe being well into their pre-season training build-up before the commencement of new campaigns and has shared clips to social media while he trains alone.

The forward appeared to be in major jeopardy of missing out on a contract this summer after Michael Beale opted against offering him a new Rangers contract but had openly stated that he wanted to "stay in Europe" next season. Now Morelos looks set to get his wish with a report in Colombia stating that Granada are set to snap up the out of contract striker after their return to the Spanish top flight.

Balon Latino claim Morelos is "confident" of agreeing a deal with the Segunda Division champions stating he likes the "economic conditions and the contract time of the agreement" despite a late interest from Celta Vigo. It is stated that clubs in Turkey and Saudi Arabia had also made initial contract with Morelos representatives.

Speaking in his homeland earlier this summer, Morelos insisted he would be able to find a club in Europe before the start of next season stating: "I have made it clear I want to stay in Europe and play football there. We are currently working towards making that happen. No, I still don't have anything and there is nothing close, but hopefully something interesting will come up. I am calm and relaxed about the situation."
