Celtic make final Rangers away allocation decision as Ibrox offer 'rejected' with fan lockout sealed for first derby

Celtic have officially turned down Rangers offer of an away allocation for the first derby showdown of the new campaign at Ibrox.

The champions have refused offer of around 700 tickets for the Scottish Premiership meeting of the upcoming campaign between the Glasgow rivals on September 3. The Glasgow Times report that an the offer of an allocation was made by Rangers in the corner of the Sandy Jardine Stand and Broomloan Stand for the first clash between the clubs this term.

Hoops chiefs have previously expressed that a small allocation is unsuitable and named safety concerns as a key factor in their hesitance to take up the offer. Michael Beale's side will now have the full stadium to themselves when Brendan Rodgers takes his team to Ibrox. Record Sport previously revealed that Rangers will demand an allocation of 700 tickets for the derby at Parkhead in December. That is despite the stance of Celtic going into the showdown in Govan.
