A669 Oldham Road in Middleton sealed off by police with paramedics at scene - live updates

Police have sealed off a major road in Greater Manchester this morning (Saturday, Match 11). The A669 Oldham Road in Middleton has been closed in both directions.

Police and ambulance crews are in attendance at the scene, between Vale Street and Hilton Fold Lane, with reports that a person was found in the road. It is understood that the person has since been taken by ambulance to hospital.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust have been dealing with the incident near to the Hare and Hounds public house. Spring Vale has also been closed by the incident.

Photos from the scene show police tape stretched across the road. A police car has also been parked across the carriageway. The closure was first reported at midnight.

Reports from the scene say that a person was found in the road and has been taken hospital by ambulance. Emergency services currently remain at the scene.
