A6 in Stockport closed due to building fire - latest updates

A6 Wellington Road North in Stockport is currently closed in both directions due to a building fire. Traffic monitoring website Inrix first reported the road closure at 2:22am.

The road is shut from the B5169 Heaton Moor Road to the A6188 Manchester Road. According to Inrix, traffic is currently coping well in the area.

There was no information immediately available on the circumstances surrounding the fire, and there is no indication as to when the road will be reopened.
