It's been nine days since Michael Beale got his jotters as Ibrox boss and with the help of Graeme Souness, the club chiefs have been searching for who best to replace. Steven Gerrard's reign brought a Premiership title but since then, neither Giovanni van Bronckhorst or Beale have got close to it and it has to be third time the charm in terms of a manager who can bring consistent success fans crave.

Kevin Muscat and Phillippe Clement are in the frame and Rangers are holding interviews with candidates in London this week during the international break, with a new gaffer potentially being in place for facing Hibs a week on Saturday. CEO James Bisgrove and the rest of the board will have their queries but what does the new man need to know? We take a look at seven questions that may be asked.

Beale was given carte blanche on the summer signings this season after insisting on taking the mantle himself, and it's left his successor with a squad that looks an expensively disjointed team lacking on confidence. Big fees were spent on the likes of Danilo, Sam Lammers, and Cyriel Dessers, and youngsters Zak Lovelace plus Ross McCausland being picked ahead of the latter two was an ominous sign.

January is a notoriously harder month to wheel and deal but it's where Beale landed his best two buys in Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin. Millions have been splurged on new players ahead of this term with some of that recouped on Glen Kamara, Antonio Colak and Fashion Sakala.
