The Green Brigade riddle sends Celtic fans and the Hotline into a spin as punters left mystified

Celtic fans hailed the performance of their side in the Champions League classic with Atletico Madrid. But it would appear those who called the Hotline have had enough of the Green Brigade.

To the football first and Steve McSherry, Uddingston, said: "For long spells Celtic outplayed Madrid and were extremely unlucky not to record a great victory. Having said that, I fear that our obvious improvement will be too late for this year's European campaign but with Brendan at the helm we will be better in next year's Champions League. Once again we are suffering from a clear lack of opposition. While Atletico play against the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Celta Vigo, we are playing clubs like Ross County, Dundee and Rangers. No wonder Scotland’s biggest and best club struggles."

Kenny Wilson, Moffat, said: "What a game of football that was. Celtic were outstanding, especially in the first half when they were deservedly in front playing some great passing football. The players understandably tired in the second half but showed great courage to hold on for a draw against a top team. Thought Bernardo did great considering his lack of game time and O’Riley and McGregor were outstanding."

I watched that Atletico team totally dismantle Real Madrid a couple of weeks ago and we went toe to toe with them throughout. This year may have come too early, but next year with over £100m in the bank, this manager can do some serious damage in Europe."
