WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H wanted Malakai Black to quit AEW to form a new faction with Bray Wyatt. Black is set to stay with AEW, but rumours emerged last month suggesting that he wanted to quit to rejoin WWE, but will now just be taking some time away from WWE.
The plans that Triple H had for Malakai in WWE were particularly interesting too, according to reports, and were even linked to Bray’s return.
Should he have returned to WWE, there's no doubt that Triple H would have booked Malakai Black, who he made NXT Champion in 2018, as one of the company's top stars.
The specific ideas WWE had for the Dutchman weren't previously known, but Dave Meltzer has provided some interesting new information. In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer reports that Black was considered for Bray Wyatt's new 'Wyatt 6' faction, which is rumoured to be debuting soon, via WrestleTalk. While obviously this won’t happen, there was talk of Aleister Black for this group. As for who the other members of the group will be, Meltzer notes that Dyad's Joe Gacy, Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler have been considered for the group. Others internally have said some of those are believed to be accurate but said things are up in the air, mentioning others could be part of it, mentioning The Dyad in particular are possible, and other names listed are not sure things.
