Wolverhampton Wanderers ‘were hopeful’ of signing Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill today, according to journalist Dean Jones. The 26-year-old was reportedly on the radar of the Midlands outfit, but it now seems as though he will be staying put at Turf Moor until at least January.
Earlier today, talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook tweeted that Wolves have ‘shown an interest’ in Brownhill as they consider options capable of improving their engine room.
However, Crook also stated that it didn’t appear as though Bruno Lage’s charges were going to ‘pursue’ the former Manchester United academy player in the final hours of the window.
Brownhill arrived at Burnley via a £9 million deal from Bristol City back in January 2020 and quickly established himself as a crucial player for the Clarets.
