Wishaw have announced Aaron Connolly as their new manager. The West of Scotland Third Division side have swooped to lure the former Ayr United striker, who has been in charge of Fourth Division East Kilbride Thistle for the past two years.
He takes the reins from Martin O'Neill who stepped upstairs to a general manager role earlier this month, leaving Kilmarnock legend Paul Wright in caretaker charge.
Wright and Alan Robertson have now stepped away from the club to allow Connolly - who they say was the 'standout candidate' - to put his stamp on the squad, and try to claw them away from the bottom of the division.
General manager Martin O'Neill said: "Aaron was without doubt the stand out candidate throughout the process. He is renowned for his attacking style of football and developing players, that identity fits exactly the profile I want for our club moving forward as we further engage with the town of Wishaw. "I believe Aaron will make existing players better, whilst attracting talented players to the club.
