East Kilbride Football Club say they are in dialogue with Airdrieonians regarding a racist incident involving Kilby player Joao Balde during Saturday's SPFL Trust Trophy tie.

The Lowland League side stunned the Diamonds on Saturday by knocking the current holders out on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the last 16 tie.

But it is claimed their success has been soured by racist comments from the home section aimed at Kilby's Portuguese winger.

The incident happened at the end of the match and it is understood the alleged comments were made in front of the full East Kilbride squad and their coaching staff after the final whistle.
