West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca could “rapidly” climb the Premier League goalscoring charts after adapting to life in English football, according to journalist Paul Brown. The 23-year-old has enjoyed a fine start to his Hammers career and Brown reckons the frontman could get even better.
Following an impressive season in Serie A with Sassuolo, the Italy international made the £30.5m switch to the London Stadium in a bid to provide competition and cover for Michail Antonio.
Scamacca had to be patient early on in the campaign and was forced to make a difference off the bench in West Ham's first three Premier League games.
But with Antonio struggling in the league and Scamacca using the Europa Conference League as a chance to gain some confidence, he quickly made himself a permanent figure in David Moyes' team.
