Wayne Rooney’s DC United have signed former Manchester United wonderkid Ravel Morrison on a free transfer. Old Trafford legend and England record goalkeeper Rooney was appointed manager of MLS side DC United earlier this month.

Rooney, who had a spell at DC United as a player, left his job with Derby County last month, having spent two seasons in charge at Pride Park.

One of Rooney’s first decisions as DC United manager was to target a move for ex-Manchester United starlet Morrison. Morrison joined the Premier League club’s academy in 2009 and was rated by many at Old Trafford as a potential superstar.

According to United legend Rio Ferdinand, former manager Sir Alex Ferguson rated Morrison as the ‘best player he had seen at that age’.
