Former Inverness Caledonian Thistle defender Ross Tokely has been slammed after footage emerged of him punching a rival off the ball during a friendly game.

The veteran stopper, who spent 16 years with the Caley Jags before a season with rivals Ross County, now plays for Nairn County in the Highland League.

And a video clip that appeared on YouTube and Twitter captures him lashing out at an opponent in a game against Western Isles in Stornoway.

The footage was uploaded by Island Footie and has been met with outrage. Record Sport columnist and former Hibs striker Tam McManus responded on social media to blast the 44-year-old, saying: “One of the biggest p***** I ever had the misfortune to come across in football.
