The ex Rangers star plotting a Celtic 'upset' just like his dad did in Champions League 20 years ago
Vladimir Weiss believes Slovan Bratislava can cause a huge Champions League upset by beating Celtic. The former Rangers winger would love to return to Glasgow and take three points off Brendan Rodgers’ side in the first game of the group phase on Wednesday night.
Weiss spent a year at Ibrox on loan in 2010, where he helped Gers pip their Old Firm rivals to a title and League Cup double.
He knows that Slovan are massive underdogs for the midweek clash at Parkhead. But Weiss insists the Slovakian outfit are determined to get a positive result against Celtic.
He told Record Sport : “We think we can cause an upset and get something against Celtic. If Slovan was playing any of the 36 teams in this big Champions League, they would be favourites against us. “So that’s the case with Celtic.
