Stuart Armstrong and Ryan Gauld rave about each other as Dundee United connection rips up MLS

Delighted Stuart Armstrong admitted it was just like old times as Ryan Gauld provided an assist for the Scotland international to score his first goal for Vancouver Whitecaps.

The 32-year-old netted just two minutes after coming on as a late sub as they defeated San Jose Earthquakes in only his second appearance for the club.

Gauld, who recently won his first Scotland cap, provided his 13th assist of the MLS season to help former Dundee United teammate Armstrong open his account.

And Armstrong admitted he enjoyed rolling back the years after they last played together for the Tannadice club 11 years ago before Gauld secured his move to Sporting Lisbon.
