Liverpool have been told by one of their former players they could accommodate the signing of Serge Gnabry - but that it would be "madness" to do so.
The Reds have been linked with the Bayern Munich forward, albeit tentatively, along with a host of other players. Gnabry’s contract with the Bundesliga champions is due to expire next summer and there are no signs yet of an extension.
Liverpool have already had dealings with Bayern this summer, following the sale of Sadio Mane. The Reds agreed a £35m deal for the Senegalese international who, like Gnabry, had one year left on his contract.
And ex-Liverpool star Steve McMananan believes Jurgen Klopp would be able to fit the Germany international into his forward line despite already having Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino to call on.
