Man City stance on Serge Gnabry transfer amid impending double exit

Manchester City are not expected to pursue a deal for Bayern Munich forward Serge Gnabry this summer despite Raheem Sterling looking set to join Gabriel Jesus in London.

Jesus was officially announced as an Arsenal player on Monday in a £45m transfer, while, despite negotiations taking longer than initially thought, all parties are still expecting Chelsea to strike a deal for Sterling.

Losing those two players - albeit for significant fees - cuts out a lot of experience in Pep Guardiola's forward line, and also reduces the numbers in a squad that is not as big as their rivals' to start with.

Gnabry has built his reputation at Bayern after coming through at Arsenal and has won four Bundesliga titles, but having failed to extend a contract that runs out next summer his club are open to selling him to get a fee for him in the current window.
