Eddie Howe has confirmed that Sando Tonali is available for Newcastle this weekend despite an ongoing gambling investigation.

The midfielder is being probed by Italian prosecutors over alleged betting offences whilst asn AC Milan player. Tonali spoke with the authorities in Milan at the weekend, and reportedly admitted betting on Milan games and that he has a gambling problem.

Newcastle have thrown their support behind the £55million summer signing, who could be facing a ban of up to three years if found guilty.

Juventus star Nicolo Fagioli has been hit with a seven month suspension, and there are fears that Tonali’s punishment could be even more severe.
