Rangers have a ‘window of opportunity’ to cash-in on Ryan Kent if he refuses to sign a new contract, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke. The 25-year-old has entered the final 12 months of his existing £18,000-per-week deal and has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time now.
A recent report from the Sunday Mirror (via the Daily Record) claimed that both Aston Villa and Leeds United were planning on scouting Kent during Rangers’ recent Champions League clash against Liverpool.
The former England Under-20 international was unable to prevent his side from falling to a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Anfield in midweek, yet he could still be an appealing prospect.
Villa and Leeds could snap Kent up on a free transfer in January by agreeing a pre-contract agreement with him, although they would be forced to wait until the summer to be able to call upon his services.
