Detectives leading a murder investigation after a man was killed following an 'altercation' at a set of traffic lights in south Manchester have been granted more time to quiz the suspect.
Sadiq Al-lami was assaulted on Kingsway, in Parrs Wood, Didsbury, in the early hours of the morning on Tuesday (January 23).
The 30-year-old was rushed to hospital from the scene but tragically died a short time later. An investigation was launched by Greater Manchester Police and an 18-year-old man was arrested.
In an update issued this afternoon, a spokesperson for the force said the suspect's time in custody has now been extended until Friday to give detectives more time to question him.
