A blow up doll was thrown into the air - what happened next devastated a family

A vast crowd at Heaton Park waited in eager anticipation for the star turn to take to the stage - the headline act, US rapper Snoop Dog. Spirits were as high as the Saturday evening summer sun, until one moment of madness changed the lives of a family forever.

An inflatable doll being thrown about above the heads of Parklife Festival revellers at the main stage struck a young woman out in Manchester enjoying the day of music and merriment with her boyfriend and friends. He turned around to jump to her 'defence'. A single punch was thrown. A young life was lost.

The then partner of Robert Hart - who died in hospital five days after he was attacked at the festival 10 years ago - has spoken out to make a fresh appeal for his killer to face justice 10 years on. Robert was just 26 years old.

Gemma Parry told how they were 'inseparable' - and how the trip to Heaton Park for Parklife in June 2014 was a 'surprise' from Robert after they attended the festival the year before.

She told how she believed Robert was okay after the punch, but how sadly his condition quickly deteriorated.

About 70,000 people were at the festival that weekend, but to this day the man who punched Robert has escaped justice. Detectives stressed the case remains 'unsolved' but 'ongoing'. A £50,000 reward also remains on offer for information leading to a conviction.

GMP investigators have trawled through thousands of photograph images and hours of mobile phone video footage, but say someone in the crowd may have 'unwittingly' captured a still or film that could prove invaluable.

Robert was the youngest of four children. He grew up in Rainow, Macclesfield, and went to
