There was no shortage of goals in the Andy Groves Memorial Cup first round games played on Sunday. Anchorians Rovers hit nine without reply against Walderslade WMC Reserves as Ishmael Kpal (2), Lewis Ings (2), Jordan Whelan, Ronnie Wratten, Kye O’Brien, Usman Amin and Lewis Goold-Davies all netted.
The Gentlemen lost 4-0 to Rochester Eagles Reserves with Reece Bissenden (3) and Joshua Jones their scorers. Harrison Mercer, Kian Fearn, Danny Saville, Alex Lloyd and Sam Mansfield all netted in The Simon Massive’s 5-4 triumph over Palmerston Athletic.
George Baker-Maron claimed the lone strike for Woodcoombe in their 6-1 loss to Wigmore Wanderers, whose goals came from Tom Spearink, Harry Smith, Dan Bailey, George Hennessey, Ronnie Porter and James Lundie.
