Hungry customers queued around the block as McDonald's branches reopened this evening. The fast food giant shut its 1,300 UK restaurants today as a mark of respect on the day of the Queen's funeral.

As the clock struck five, a member of staff removed a series of orange traffic cones to allow customers to enter the car park.

McDonald's was one of many retailers that decided to close its doors today after a bank holiday was declared across the UK.
