PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte is edging closer to a move to Manchester United as Ineos continue to set their stall out in the transfer market.
The Manchester Evening News understands progress has been made in discussions over the Uruguay international, who has been a priority for United this summer.
After deals for Noussair Mazraoui, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee were confirmed, United put their efforts into securing another defensive midfielder to provide cover and competition.
Ineos outlined Ugarte as a top target and now look increasingly likely to get their main. The full details on that proposed transfer are yet to be finalised.
