Raphael Varane has not been named in Manchester United's 22-man squad to play Omonia on Thursday night. Varane sustained an injury against Manchester City at the weekend and he did not take part in training at Carrington on Wednesday morning, which took place before Erik ten Hag confirmed he was sidelined at his pre-match press conference. "Yes [I expect him back soon] in the case of Rapha [Varane], we hope," Ten Hag said when asked for United's team news, confirming the MEN's exclusive that his injury was not serious. "Harry [Maguire] will take a little bit longer, the other two [Van de Beek and Wan-Bissaka] I cannot give a prognosis." Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez are the only centre-backs travelling with the squad and they are set to start the game.
United youngsters Zidane Iqbal, Facundo Pellistri and Alejandro Garnacho were also named in the 22-man squad for Omonia, just under 24 hours after playing for the U21s against Barrow in the English Football League Trophy group stage.
