Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez has been linked with replacing Erik ten Hag as Manchester United manager - but the iconic midfielder rejected the club during his playing career.
Xavi, who was integral to Barcelona's golden era under Pep Guardiola and once held the record for most appearances at the club, took the reins at Camp Nou in November 2021.
In his first full season in charge, Xavi guided Barcelona to win La Liga, finishing ten points ahead of fierce rivals Real Madrid, but a disappointing title defence saw him part ways with his boyhood club this summer.
It has been claimed that United CEO Omar Berrada has twice travelled for talks with the ex-Barcelona boss as Ten Hag continues to come under pressure at Old Trafford despite his recent contract extension.
