Manchester City suffered their first loss of the Premier League season on Sunday afternoon as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at Liverpool. Mo Salah’s 76th-minute winner inflicted City’s 14th loss at Anfield in their past 22 visits.
The match was a fiercely contested one, which saw a number of controversial moments in the second half in particular. The temperature of the game rose considerably after City's Phil Foden saw a goal ruled out by VAR following an Erling Haaland shirt-pull on Fabinho in the build-up and only increased from then on.
Salah and Bernardo Silva repeatedly clashed throughout the 90 minutes, with footage emerging after the match of the Man City star appearing to kick out at the Reds' star.
Silva's conduct towards Salah infuriated Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp so much that the German charged down the touchline to aggressively protest to officials.
