Mo Salah has called on world leaders assist the people of Gaza.
The Liverpool star posted an emotional plea on social media amid escalating violence in Palestine. Israel has retaliated against the state following a terror attack by Hamas last Saturday with the conflict continuing. A number of figures from across the footballing world have offered their support to those affected in the region.
Now Salah as joined them, with the Egyptian calling on the powerful to help after a hospital in the region was bombed. The population in Gaza have seen water, electricity and food supplies cut off and the Premier League icon has urged authorities to get aid to those in need as quickly as possible. Salah said: "It is not always easy to speak in times like this. There has been too much violence and heartbreaking brutality. The escalations in the recent weeks is terrible to witness.
"All lives are sacred and must be protected. This needs to stop. Families are being torn apart. What is clear now is that humanitarian aid must be allowed to Gaza immediately. The people there are in terrible conditions.
"The scenes at the hospital last night were horrifying. The people of Gaza need food, water and medical supplies urgently. I'm calling on the world leaders to prevent the further slaughter of innocent souls. Humanity must prevail."
