Vincent Kompany has signed a new contract at Burnley having guided the Clarets to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
The Belgian, only appointed last summer, has agreed fresh terms on a five year deal keeping him at Turf Moor until 2028. The 37-year-old has overseen a stunning transformation at Burnley and his work in Lancashire had seen him linked with Premier League heavyweights Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea who are both seeking new permanent managers.
But Kompany has seemingly ended that speculation by agreeing fresh terms as he prepares to lead the Clarets into the top flight.
His management style has drawn comparisons with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, who had Kompany as captain for a trophy-laden spell at the Etihad.
