Lorraine viewers 'switch off' minutes into the show as they 'cringe' at the TV host's anniversary special. The 64 year old Scottish presenter marked her four-decade-long television career with a surprise episode, which she claimed to have 'no idea' about.

Just before her eponymous chat show, Lorraine joined Susanna Reid and Ed Balls on Good Morning Britain, confessing her complete ignorance about what was in store.

She revealed that the programme had been 'hijacked' by two very special women. Later, fellow presenters Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh assumed hosting responsibilities and surprised Lorraine with a unique show featuring a series of special guests who made unexpected appearances to congratulate her on her career milestone, along with various flashback clips of the star.

Lorraine was accompanied by her younger brother Graham, who appeared on the screen behind her in the studio. This unusual participation left the presenter astounded as he typically avoids TV appearances.
