A huge police cordon is in place at the scene of a serious collision in Oldham. Emergency services were scrambled to Ashton Road near Crofton Street this afternoon following a crash that reportedly involved a police car.
The road is cordoned off, and vehicles are being asked to avoid the area. Pictures from the scene show a large emergency services presence, with the road closed in both directions and a police cordon in place. Greater Manchester Police (GMP), Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) and North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) have been contacted for comment. Follow live updates from the scene in our blow below Eyewitnesses at the scene have described a 'large' emergency services presence with around 'a dozen' police and fire officers attending, and at least three ambulances.
