Jurgen Klopp agreed with Erling Haaland after Trent Alexander-Arnold's incendiary comments drew a response from the Manchester City striker.

Liverpool and City have provided the defining rivalry of Pep Guardiola's time in English football and there has been plenty of unsavoury incidents off the pitch to accompany the thrilling football and trophies that have been served up.

Liverpool defender Alexander-Arnold fuelled the fire again ahead of Sunday's meeting by suggesting that Liverpool's successes meant more 'because of the situation at both clubs, financially.' Pep Guardiola wouldn't dignify the comments with an answer but Haaland bit back, saying that Alexander-Arnold wouldn't know what it feels like to win the Treble.

City teammate Ruben Dias also joined in, pointing out that big clubs should focus on themselves.
