Liverpool legend Graeme Souness believes Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos have acted disgracefully in ending Sir Alex Ferguson's ambassador job and shown they don't fully understand the club.
Earlier this week, MEN Sport reported that Ferguson's time as an ambassador of the Reds will come to an end in the summer. The legendary United boss began this role following his retirement in 2013 and earns approximately £2m per season in the job.
United sources stressed that the decision was handled amicably by all parties and Ferguson was informed he would always be welcome back at the Theatre of Dreams.
Ineos' decision comes at a time when they are looking to make sweeping cost-cutting measures at the club. READ MORE: Will Ferguson be at United vs Brentford?
