Temperatures will drop to as low as 4C in Greater Manchester as the weather gets a 'good deal colder' this week. Met Office forecasters said a 'cold, showery airmass' will sweep over much of the country throughout this week causing a chilly snap with the mercury falling to below average for September.
Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be particularly cold as the cold air sweeps over. In our region, a windy start to the morning is expected today (Tuesday) before some sunny intervals this afternoon.

Forecasters predict it will feel chilly for the time of year with a maximum temperature of 12C in Greater Manchester. Another chilly night is forecast overnight into Thursday with the temperature dropping to 7C.
