Hearts set for Aaron Hickey transfer windfall as Bologna sale brings Josh Doig domino effect into view

Hearts are set to receive a financial bonus as Aaron Hickey's exit from Bologna nears closer - and Hibs could be set for a fight to keep Josh Doig.

The Scotland international had a sell-on clause inserted into his deal when he made the switch to Serie A from Tynecastle in 2020.

It's set to prove a masterstroke with reports claiming Premier League side Brentford are set to snap him up for a fee in the region of £14 million plus add-ons.

Newly-appointed Bologna sports director Giovanni Sartori said: "As far as the outgoing market is concerned, the two players who will be leaving our club at the moment are Aaron Hickey and Matias Svanberg.
