Hamilton Accies midfielder details return timeline after injury woes

dailyrecord.co.uk

Midfielder Marley Redfern is targeting a mid-July comeback from injury, as he hopes to play a part in Hamilton Academical’s bid to return straight back to the Championship season.

The 20-year-old has a year left on his contract at New Douglas Park after watching on helpless from the sidelines at the end of last season during the club’s relegation to League One.

Having been on the comeback trail after a hamstring issue in the SPFL Trust Trophy final win over Raith Rovers in March, Redfern suffered a setback when he injured his ankle and is now working with the club physios “almost every day” to get back in time to join in some part of the club’s pre-season training.

Accies return to the training pitch on Wednesday, but Redfern admits it is likely more than a month before he is back amongst the squad.
