Ryan Fulton says Hamilton Accies clinching a relegation play-off place would eclipse them winning the SPFL Trust Trophy. And the 26 year old goalkeeper says winning silverware earlier this season will mean nothing if Accies are relegated.
That’s what’s at stake as they head to Arbroath on Friday, needing a win and for rivals Cove Rangers to lose or draw against Morton.
Hamilton would then move into the play-off where they would play against either Alloa Athletic or Airdrie in their semi-final, but defeat will see them automatically relegated to League One.
The former Liverpool kid said: “This is bigger than the cup final, 100 per cent. The cup final doesn’t really mean anything if we don’t stay in this league. “It’s massive for us, we know what’s at stake, not just for us, but for the club and the fans as well, so I think it’s bigger. “Everyone’s families are affected, staff that work here and everything else – there’s a lot more than just us staying in the league at stake. “We understand that, we know that, and it’s not all in our hands, but we can only do our job and hope for the best from there. “It would be absolutely massive to win.
