Graeme Souness 'mystified' at Philippe Clement's new Rangers deal as he spots something missing from Ibrox board

Graeme Souness fears Rangers are missing someone with football expertise on the Ibrox board - as he pleaded for Philippe Clement to be given more help in the bid to close the gap to Celtic which he again claimed is NOT that big.

The legendary Light Blues figure helped out in the process of the appointment of Clement last year and still reckons he is the right man for the job.

But Souness confessed his disappointment that he hasn’t been backed more this summer as the clock ticks down on the transfer window and as a result was puzzled at the Belgian signing a contract extension.

Rangers haven’t replaced chief executive James Bisgrove since he left for the Saudi Pro League as chairman John Bennett takes on that role and Souness admitted he fears there aren’t enough people in the boardroom with football experience.
